Savory Pastries

These savory pastries are made with cheese and vegetables. Obviously you can change up the vegetables and cheese according to your liking so have fun with it and be creative to vary the taste!

Most of the vegetables need to be quickly cooked prior to assembling and then the vegetables are cooked thoroughly when baked in the pastry.

In the video below, the savory pastries are made with frozen puff pastry so you save time making the dough. If you are feeling adventurous, of course you can make your own puff pastry.

Savory pastries make a great presentation and you can be creative to make pretty designs when putting the ingredients together on top of the pastry.

The savory pastries can be used as an appetizer, a side dish, a snack and look great cut into smaller pieces on a buffet table.

Ingredients:

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry
  • 350 grams whole asparagus
  • 2 vines cherry tomatoes
  • 6 to 7 small potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 medium/large zucchini thinly sliced
  • 1 vidalia onion, sautéd 
  • 100 Camembert cheese sliced
  • 100 Brie cheese sliced
  • Hot pepper flakes to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Flour to dust work surface
