Where’s the beef?  Certainly you will find an abundance of it at Dario Cecchini’s restaurant, Officinia della Bistecca, located in Panzano in Chianti.  It is definitely a meat lover’s paradise for those with a hardy appetite.  Get ready to enjoy 5 courses of beef while being entertained by the staff and Dario Cecchini in a family dining atmosphere.  It is truly an experience you won’t forget.

The meal began in the macelleria where the diners gathered and enjoyed Tuscan bread, finocchina and wine.

Thereafter, we made our way to the upstairs dining room where we were all seated at a large table.   Pounds of various types of beef were displayed on a table in front of the grills.  Fresh raw vegetables, Tuscan bread and olive oil for dipping, along with wine and water, were already on our table when we sat down.

The multiple courses included beef tartar, roast beef, rib eye, Panzanese steak and Bistecca Fiorentina.  Side dishes were Tuscan beans and baked potatoes.  Each course is served by the waiters who are very talented on putting on a show for all of the guests.  Dessert consisted of olive oil cake, coffee and grappa. The restaurant is open daily for lunch at 1:00 pm and dinner at 8:00 pm.  Cost is 50 Euro per person and reservations are a must.  Also, don’t forget to confirm your reservation a day in advance otherwise you may lose your place at the table.
