Italian vs Sicilian Language

Italian vs Sicilian Language can be quite different and some people feel Sicilian is a complete departure from the Italian Language. There are different schools of thought as to whether Sicilian is a language or a dialect of Italian.

Furthermore, just like there are different Italian dialects, there are also different Sicilian dialects. There are some similarities between all Romance languages, but some Italians can’t even understand Sicilian.
